Richmond has named a squad of 26 for its AFLW practice match against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.

Number one draft pick Ellie McKenzie and Australian Opals basketball cross-coder Tessa Lavey will play their first games of football for the season after missing last week's intraclub, while fellow draftee Luka Lesosky-Hay and the recently signed Hannah McLaren will also get their chance to impress.

Trade recruits Sarah Hosking, Sarah Dargan, Harriet Cordner and Sarah D’Arcy have all been named to take on the Bulldogs.

Experienced campaigners Katie Brennan, Phoebe Monahan, Christina Bernardi and Sabrina Frederick are among the others set to play in the strong Richmond lineup.

Monique Conti who was a part of the WNBL championship-winning Southside Flyers team late last month will also feature for Richmond as she ramps up her preparation towards Round 1.

Speaking to Richmond Media following last weekend’s intra club match, coach Ryan Ferguson said he was looking forward to seeing how the team would adapt to the Bulldogs challenge.

“We will continue to keep pulling everything together and get another look at the girls playing in the roles we need them to play," he added.

The Tigers will then have 15 days until the Round 1 clash with Brisbane at the Swinburne Centre.

Saturday’s match is closed to the public.
