Richmond will regain the services of triple premiership Tiger and 2019 Jack Dyer Medallist, Dion Prestia for Sunday afternoon's match against Fremantle at Optus Stadium.

The star midfielder's return marks just his seventh game of the season, and first since Round 15, after being hampered by soft tissues injuries throughout 2021.

Speaking to the media on Friday morning, coach Damien Hardwick said Prestia's inclusion would not only boost the Tigers' midfield, but free up players such as Shai Bolton to spend more time in attack. 

"(Dion) hasn't had the year both he and I would like, but the fact of the matter is he's back and available to play this week," Hardwick said.

"He's such an important player to us, a best and fairest winner. They're so important, those transition mids. They're very hard to find and we've got one of the bests in the league.

"So, it's a welcome relief to have him back and we look forward to him building on the last four games plus whatever it may be at the end of the season."

Coming out of last week’s side is Marlion Pickett, who is being managed.

Last week's unused medical substitute Josh Caddy has been named as an emergency, alongside Thomson Dow, Callum Coleman-Jones and Ben Miller.

The Club will confirm which player steps into the 23 to serve as the medical substitute 60 minutes before the game.

With just four rounds of the home and away season remaining and both Richmond and Fremantle currently sitting two points outside the top eight, Sunday's game is all-important for both sides. 

The clash will commence at 5.10 AEST and be broadcast live on Kayo Sports and FOX FOOTY.
