Richmond will go into tomorrow night’s game with GWS at Marvel Stadium with an unchanged starting 22.

The marquee Friday night clash will significantly impact the competition’s final eight, with both sides in the hunt for seventh and eighth positions.

Speaking to the media this week, senior coach Damien Hardwick said the added finals ramifications made the proposition of Friday night football even more exciting.

"Any time you play on Friday night is a great game, and we are going up against GWS with both sides competing for those final spots in the eight, so it is going to be an enormous challenge, but one we are looking forward to,” he said.

“It is going to be an exciting end of the year for a lot of sides, and we are looking forward to giving it a shake."

Included in the Tigers’ team are youngsters Hugo Ralphsmith (five games), Callum Coleman-Jones (seven), Thomson Dow (five), and Maurice Rioli Junior (one), who have each held down their spots after senior call-ups last week.

“We think those guys did enough to warrant another game. I thought they all showed at various stages the players that they could become,” Hardwick said.

“(I was) really impressed with Thomson (Dow) and Hugo Ralphsmith, and Maurice (Rioli Jnr) showed some signs as well.

“People will look at the stats sheet, and I think he (Rioli Jnr) only had six or seven touches, but he created five turnovers which are really important in the way we play.

“Some of the chase pressure that he put on allowed us to kick goals going back the other way. That is the importance of his role and what he can bring.

“We were pleased with the performance of those young lads.”

Last week’s unused medical substitute, Jason Castagna has been omitted.

Kamdyn McIntosh, Ryan Garthwaite, Will Martyn and Jake Aarts have been named the emergencies, with one of the four to step in as the medical substitute tomorrow night.

The Friday night clash commences at 7.50pm and will be broadcast live on FOX FOOTY, Kayo Sports and Channel Seven.
