Assistant Coach - Backs/Defence

After a standout season as the VFL Senior Coach in 2025, where he led the side to an Elimination Final appearance, Jake Batchelor has been promoted to the AFL coaching staff in 2026. The 84-game Tiger is a beloved member inside the Swinburne Centre and will have the backline in his Assistant Coach portfolio for the 2026 campaign. Prior to returning to Richmond in the VFL role last season, Batchelor was part of St Kilda’s coaching set-up since 2018, including being the Sandringham VFL coach from 2020-2024.
