Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in Sunday's win over Carlton at Ikon Park. 

Jake Aarts (32 disposals, 10 tackles, seven clearances, one goal)

"'Aartsy' was brilliant on the weekend. He tackled hard, won the ball for us, and put great pressure on the opposition in a very well-rounded game."

Lachlan Street (27 disposals, 10 marks, eight rebound-50s)

"Went back and was great for us down there. He looked as solid as a rock, intercepted the ball, and showed composure with the footy."

Kane Lambert (25 disposals, six marks, two goals)

"Kane had another great game. He found plenty of the footy and played his role to perfection in another step forward for him."

Riley Collier-Dawkins (25 disposals, four tackles, four clearances)

"It was a real step forward for Riley in terms of his hunt for the footy. He's based his game heavily on defence lately, but it was good to see him get a lot more offensively involved."

Rhyan Mansell (25 disposals, 11 marks, four inside-50s)

"Rhyan gad a sensational game across half-back. In particular, his last quarter was outstanding with five marks from opposition possession. He attacked the ball and man hard all day."

Will Martyn (24 disposals, eight marks, six rebound-50s)

"It was great reward for Will to get more involved on offence on the weekend. He will take some great learnings out of the game in his transition to half-back."

Sydney Stack (23 disposals, six marks, three goals)

"Sydney was great in offence and defence on the weekend. He hunted the ball and had one particular contest in the centre of the ground which stood out, but he also impacted on the scoreboard as well."

Sam Banks (22 disposals, nine marks, six rebound-50s)

"He's progressing really nicely. He really works hard and the bigger ground at Carlton certainly suited him. It was great to see him not only get involved offensively but get down back and help out our back six as well. 

Maurice Rioli Jnr (21 disposals, seven tackles, four clearances)

"He's in sensational form at the moment. Once again, his tackle pressure was second to none and he's improving at his centre bounce work which is also great to see and exciting for Tigers supporters."

Tyler Sonsie (18 disposals, four clearances, four inside-50s)

"He was a little quieter on the weekend. He still had an influence on the game but probably lacked a little engagement at stoppage, which is when he plays his best footy."

Ivan Soldo (16 disposals, 41 hit-outs, five tackles, two goals)

"Ivan was really pivotal for us. He attacks the ruck contest and helped us get dominance around the footy. He finished with two goals but could have easily kicked four or five."

Judson Clarke (16 disposals, three inside-50s, two goals)

"Judson played his role well. He is positioning himself really well and had a couple of classy finishes on the day also."

Cam Olden (13 disposals, five marks, two goals)

"He plays a little taller than he is, he competed in the air and tackled hard and was able to hit the scoreboard once again. He's a really smart player."

Austin Johnson (13 disposals, five tackles, three marks)

"After performing exceptionally well the previous week, he had another solid game. He's only early on in his development as a winger at the Club and will take plenty of learnings out of the weekend."

Nick Guiney (12 disposals, three tackles, three rebound-50s)

"He had a great game on debut. It was really pleasing for him to make the step up to VFL footy and look right at home. He tackled hard, he won contested footy and he was really reliable down in defence."

Jackson Davies (12 disposals, five marks, three rebound-50s)

"He is pretty reliable in our back six. He kept his man quiet once again and he reads the play very well behind the ball."

Bigoa Nyuon (11 disposals, seven marks, two tackles)

"'Biggie' had another solid game. He got involved offensively and his spread and run to create is something that really stands out, as well as a couple of really desperate efforts in defence."

Samson Ryan (10 disposals, 14 hit-outs, two goals)

"He is really close to having a breakout game. He's doing a great job for a young player competing against two and three in the air at times and bringing the ball to ground. Hopefully, a few more of his marks stick in the coming weeks."

Mykelti Lefau (eight disposals, three tackles, one goal)

"He definitely had more of an impact than you would expect from an eight-possession game. The pressure that he puts on is incredible. He's lightning-quick and he also was a part of a great passage of play to unselfishly pass off to Kane Lambert for a goal."

Tyler Young (seven disposals, five marks, two rebound-50s)

"He's really developing quickly as a tall back. We gave him the job on the dangerous Ben Crocker and he did a sensational job for the majority of the day. He's still developing an understanding of the game but his closing speed is certainly evident and his adherence to the task is really excellent."

Misilifi Faimalo (four disposals, two marks)

"Struggled to run out the game due to cramping. He probably needs to continue to improve his fitness, but his speed is on show for everyone to see. He played a really important role in keeping the Carlton forwards quiet on the day."

Angus Hicks (two disposals, four tackles)

"Angus didn't have his best day. He's been in great form recently so this was a rare quiet day for him. He'll be looking to bounce back strongly this week."

Josh Caddy (one disposal, one tackle)

"Was injured in the first quarter but was absolutely fantastic on the bench coaching our young forwards throughout the day, which was really pleasing to see."
