Athletic 20-year-old Tiger Bigoa Nyuon will make his long-awaited senior debut against Hawthorn on Saturday afternoon at the MCG.

The key-position player was Richmond's third selection in the 2019 NAB AFL Draft, taken at pick No. 54 from the Dandenong Stingrays after spending time at St Kilda as an Academy player.

Nyuon, 197cm and 93kg, was then delisted last October with the Club's promise of re-selecting him in the 2021 Rookie Draft, which they did with pick No. 7.

One of eight siblings, Nyuon was born in Kenya into a South Sudanese family and spent the first three years of his life in a refugee camp before his family arrived in Australia in search of a new life.

Richmond's second debutant of the year, Nyuon been a key pillar in the VFL Tigers' defence in 2022 on the back of a solid pre-season.

He was a vital contributor in last Saturday's VFL win over Port Melbourne with 18 disposals, seven marks and six spoils.

"He continues to show great form and promise," VFL coach Steve Morris said of Nyuon's performance.

"He had some really good moments... His intercept marking was a feature."
