Richmond is pleased to have secured a trade with Carlton, Collingwood and Hawthorn that will see young midfielder Grace Egan return to the Club.

Egan, 21, was selected by the Blues with pick No. 13 overall at the 2019 AFLW Draft after spending two seasons with Richmond's VFLW team.

The hard-tackling inside midfielder quickly became a part of the Blues' first-choice midfield, averaging 15.3 disposals and four tackles across 23 matches with the club.

Egan received votes for the NAB AFLW Rising Star Award in 2020 and finished 4th and 6th in the Carlton best and fairest in her first two seasons.

The Shepparton products 2022 campaign was curtailed by a serious rib and lung injury that saw her miss a large chunk of the season.

Now fit and firing, Egan will join fellow youngsters Monique Conti (22), Ellie McKenzie (19) and Maddy Brancatisano (21) in a midfield that will excite Tiger fans for many years to come.

Richmond Head of Women’s Football, Kate Sheahan said that Egan was an important acquisition for the Club.

"Grace is familiar with a lot of the players, coaches and staff already at Richmond, which we think will help her transition into our program smoothly," she added.

"She plays football hard and tough and will complement our midfield brigade well. We are looking forward to seeing what Grace can help us achieve for the upcoming season and beyond.

“We are thrilled to have her back at the Swinburne Centre.”

Egan returns to Richmond in exchange for selection No. 25 overall (13 Victorian), with the Tigers having received the pick via a four-club exchange also completed today.

The flurry of pick swaps saw Richmond hand over its first-round selection No. 18 overall (9 Victorian) to Hawthorn in exchange for selections No. 30 and No. 33 overall (16 and 18 Victorian).

Picks 30 and 33 were then on-traded to Collingwood for selection No. 25 and No. 38 overall (13 and 21 Victorian), with selection No. 25 (13 Victorian) handed straight to the Blues for Egan.

Richmond now holds selections 38, 52 and 68 at the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft set to be held on June 29.
