Star Richmond key forward Tom Lynch’s wet-weather masterclass in the opening half of Friday night’s blockbuster clash with Collingwood drew huge praise from former Melbourne champion and now high-profile football commentator Garry Lyon.

Lynch kicked four of his five goals for the match during first half and put the Magpies’ defence to the sword in the soggy conditions.

“Tom Lynch played one of the great wet-weather halves of footy for a key forward,” Lyon told AFL Nation in his half-time summary of the contest.
