Lively Richmond forward Emelia Yassir has been rewarded for her standout season with AFLPA 22Under22 squad selection.
22Under22, presented by Local Expert, is a fan-voted concept that recognises the best 22 players aged 22 and under for the entirety of the season (including Grand Final day)
For a player to be eligible for the squad of 44, they are required to play 50 per cent of the home and away season, equating to five matches.
A fierce competitor, Yassir had a breakthrough 2023 season, booting nine goals across the 10-round season.
The 20-year-old kicked a career-high three goals in the Dreamtime clash against Essendon, earning herself a Round 7 Rising Star nomination.
Chair of Selectors, Melissa Hickey, and an internal selection panel at the AFL Players’ Association selects the squad of 44 players, with support from Champion Data.
Fans then have the opportunity to decide the final 22 by voting on the 22Under22 platform.
The fan whose team best matches to the final team wins their choice of either $150 Prezzee Voucher.
Voting is open for seven days from November 9th to November 15th.
The final team will be announced on November 22nd via the AFL Players’ Association’s social media channels.
