Development coach Kane Lambert says Richmond's Tiger cubs are hungry to make their mark in 2024.

Back in his initial development role after he stepped up into the role of midfield coach in May last year, Lambert said Punt Road was feeling "re-energized".

"The dynamic of the whole football club has been great," Lambert said when speaking on Richmond Media's Our Four Walls.

"The (young) boys have come back in good shape, and a lot of them have a bit of a point to prove.

"They know that they need to step up and if we're going to progress as the football club it's up to that group of players to take us forward, so it's exciting to be a part of that.

"It felt like we made some real inroads last year and some progression, so we want to continue to build on that."

Lambert was bullish about what the emerging Tigers could achieve this season.

"Hopefully a lot of them are going to be playing senior football at some stage," he said.

"Theres a lot of information with a new head coach and a slight change in style and terminology, so it's important for us to get an understanding of that and be mindful of how we educate our players and the key-ticket items that we expect them to grasp and understand, but also enabling them to play footy and play to their strengths.

"And enjoy themselves too, we want our players to be happy footballers as well."

Lambert also provided an update on some members of the Tigers' department of youth.

"I'm really impressed by the way Seth Campbell's come back, we didn't see a lot of him as he had some issues with his body," he said.

"Steely Green's really new to football (but) you can see his development and his understanding way we want to play.

"Judson Clarke is unfortunately still having a little bit of an issue with his shoulder, but he works as hard as anyone.

"Matt Coulthard was given the task of putting on a bit of weight, which he did. He's just coming towards the backend of a niggling injury at the moment, so hopefully we see him out there (soon).

"Liam Fawcett who we drafted has been really impressive. He had some struggles with glandular fever pre-Christmas, but he's back in our program full-time now and has shown some really good forward craft.

"He's almost like a new recruit, Kaleb Smith. He had some challenges with his foot last year... and he's as hungry as ever, that kid. So, I'm really excited about what he can do. He'll predominately spend time in the backline, but obviously we do a fair bit of work together.
