Young gun Richmond midfielder Dustin Martin expressed his passion for the Club in his acceptance speech for winning the Jack Titus Medal (runner-up in the Best and Fairest) at last night’s (Monday, September 30) gala Jack Dyer Medal function.

Martin, who polled 255 votes to finish nine behind first-time Jack Dyer Medal winner Daniel Jackson, signed a new, two-year deal with the Tigers yesterday morning, following considerable speculation over his playing future.

“I’d just like to thank the supporters and the footy club,” Martin told a 1550-plus sell-out crowd at Crown Palladium.

“I love playing here . . . it’s my home.

“I’d like to thank all my teammates.  I love you boys . . . You help me a lot and you care for me a lot, so thanks very much.

“To the coaches and all the footy staff, again, I appreciate everything you do for me.

“You make me a better person.

“I really appreciate everything everyone does for me . . .”
