Richmond had a “secret weapon” help snap its 12-game losing streak in last Saturday’s clash with West Coast at Optus Stadium.

Veteran star key forward Tom Lynch revealed in a post-match interview with Triple M that Tiger great Dustin Martin had played a part in the team’s stirring 11-point victory over the Eagles.

“We’re on the right path, we’ve just got to do the simple things over and over,” Lynch said.

“We actually had Dustin Martin come in during the week. He spoke to the boys about what he did to prepare, and how it took about five or six years for him to get professional and learn what’s good for him.

“He really just spoke about how you just do the little things really well. 

“Obviously Dustin Martin is probably the best player in the last whatever years. And for the young guys to hear that.

“We got the first win today, but if we’re on the right track, we’ve got to stay together and keep working at it, and the wins will come.”
