In a Richmond Media mid-season special series, recently retired Yellow and Black premiership hero Shaun Grigg is assessing the progress of the Tigers’ 2019 AFL debutants. Today, he turns his attention to quick, slick youngster Patrick Naish. Here’s what ‘Grigga’ has to say about him . . .

“He can use his silky skills and his big, long kick, probably as a wing or half-back at this stage.

“Over his career, he’d probably want to develop his inside game, so he can pinch-hit through the midfield if need be, just to round him off.

“But I think, at the moment, he’s the ball-user from the wing, with very good running power, that can accumulate and kick it into our forwards.

“He’s got a bit of a flamboyant personality. He’s been hunting around my old locker (the No. 6 that Patrick’s father Chris also had at Richmond).

“I keep it locked when I’m not at the Club, so he can’t get his bag in there . . . he’s got to earn his stripes there. But he’s on the right track.”
