The potent Tom Lynch-Jack Riewoldt combination in Richmond’s forward line was a major talking point in the wake of the team’s 32-point victory over Collingwood at the MCG last Friday night.

“They haven’t played a lot of games together, so they’re going to get better as time goes on. But I was really impressed with both those boys tonight,” Hardwick said.

“Tom’s just a quality player and he’s been really impressive for us. He’s really strong and his hands are elite.”

Although it was Lynch who hit the scoreboard big-time on Friday night, and rightly received high praise for his dominant display, Hardwick also acclaimed Riewoldt’s unselfish role up forward.

“I think Jack’s a coach in waiting,” Hardwick said.

“He’s incredibly smart, sees the game really well, knows when a guy’s either got a better match-up, or is on fire.

“So, he cleared a path and did some things from that point of view . . .
