Richmond midfield star and vice-captain Monique Conti is set to feature in the highly-anticipated NAB AFLW Australia v Ireland match later this year.

The 26-year-old has been selected to represent Australia in the match, set to be held on Saturday 1 August at North Sydney Oval.

It comes just weeks after the superstar was announced as Richmond vice-captain, nominated by her peers for the honour.

Conti’s masterful on-field performances are well known, as she won her seventh Richmond AFLW best and fairest award last season, after averaging 26.3 disposals, the second-most in her career, and a career-high 7.2 tackles per game.

The historic clash will bring together some of the competition’s biggest stars and emerging talent to celebrate the continued growth of women’s football and the strong connection between AFLW and Ireland.

The match will use a Sherrin football and be played under Australian Football rules.

Australia v Ireland is set to kick off at 4.15pm (AEST) on Saturday 1 August, at North Sydney Oval. The match will be broadcast live on Fox Footy and Kayo Sports.
