Richmond’s players endured their most serious match-play hitout of the pre-season so far at the ME Bank Centre today.
The Tigers took part in a game run over three periods, eight days before the Club’s opening Pre-season Challenge match against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday, February 28.
Richmond players have ramped up their match-practice work in the last six weeks, as they continue their preparations for the home-and-away season.
Tigers’ spearhead Jack Riewoldt was a standout in the forward half, booting five goals, while developing key position prospect Liam McBean kicked three majors.
Brett Deledio and Shaun Grigg each kicked two goals, along with Richmond rookie Kane Lambert and VFL newcomer Jake Aarts.
Deledio, who has been managing Achilles soreness, completed the session and was untroubled, along with Reece Conca, who has been on the comeback from a knee injury.
Dustin Martin, who this week signed a two-year contract extension, was dominant through the midfield.
Pleasingly for the Club, the players emerged unscathed from the match on the injury front.
The Tigers will hold an open training session for the fans next Friday, February 27, at the ME Bank Centre, from 9.15am.
