Richmond’s National Recruiting Manager Matthew Clarke provides an insight into the Club’s second selection (No. 51 overall) in last Wednesday night’s 2020 AFL national draft, talented, young small forward Maurice Rioli Jr.

“Maurice, obviously, the son of Maurice Rioli, one of Richmond’s greats and one of the AFL greats. We’re really excited to have Maurice.

“He’s come through the pathway, through the NT system as well, and spent the last 18 months down here in Melbourne going to Scotch College.

“Didn’t play a lot of footy this year, obviously, due to the COVID restrictions, but we’re really excited about what he can do.

“He’s really hard, tough, he’s a little tackle machine.

“He puts really good forward pressure on, and he's got some amazing tricks with his foot skills and his hand skills.

“So, really excited to have Maurice and I think Tiger supporters will be really excited to see him in the next few years.”
