As announced earlier on Friday, Tom Brown and James Trezise will make their AFL debuts against Port.

01:22

Twenty-year-old Brown was selected by Richmond with pick No. 17 in the 2021 NAB AFL Draft from the Murray Bushrangers.

The 193cm defender earns his debut after an impressive body of work in the second half of the VFL season, averaging 19 disposals per game after recovering from a wrist injury that hampered the first half of his year.

A clever ball-user who thrives in the contest, Brown recorded 18-disposals, six marks and six rebound-50s in the VFL last weekend.

Trezise, 21, was Richmond's second selection in the 2023 Mid-Season Rookie Draft, taken at pick No. 13 overall.

The hard-working rebounding defender, who was elevated from Richmond's VFL program, has an exciting left foot kick and raw ability.

The competitive Tiger was impressive in last Sunday's crucial VFL win, racking up 18 disposals, four marks and three inside-50s.

Talented key forward Jacob Bauer has also been recalled for his fourth senior appearance, fresh off a four-goal performance in the reserves.

He was the "standout player on the ground" according to VFL coach Steve Morris.

"He was a real presence, took three contested marks and he was bombing them from everywhere," Morris said.

"Really pleased with the way he was able to impact the game."

Also returning to the line-up is wingman Sam Banks, who adds to his five career AFL games this season.

The 20-year-old was also among the best in the VFL last Sunday, accumulating 23 disposals, 11 marks and six rebound-50s.

"I thought he had a really good game. His run and carry was particularly important for us and he continued his good form," Morris said.

The inclusions replace omitted duo Kamdyn McIntosh and Marlion Pickett, as well as recently-retired Tiger legends Trent Cotchin and Jack Riewoldt.

Midfielder Dion Prestia will miss the Round 24 match due to a minor knee complaint that the Club will take no risks on.

Pickett and McIntosh have been named emergencies alongside Rhyan Mansell and Ben Miller, with the substitute to be confirmed 60 minutes before the opening bounce.

Last week's substitute, Maurice Rioli, features in the starting 22.

Interim coach Andrew McQualter said the Tigers would be looking to round out their 2023 season on a high.

"We want to finish our season on a great note that we carry into the off season and pre-season," McQualter said.

"They've bounced in with a lot of energy this week and we're going over (face) to Port Adelaide with the aim of winning the game of footy.

"And we're going to pick a fit and hungry team to do that."

Sunday's game in Adelaide will be broadcast live on FOX FOOTY and Kayo Sports.
