Injury Report: Round 9
Ben Serpell provides an update on the injury list ahead of Round 9.
Tim Taranto: Concussion, Test
"We thought Tim would get up last week, but unfortunately, he didn't get through that last training session of the week without developing some symptoms,” Serpell said.
“We'll repeat that process this week, and all going well, we'd expect him to return to play this weekend.”
Dion Prestia: Calf, 3-4 weeks
"Dion's doing quite well. He reports that it's not as bad as what he's had in the past, and certainly the scan showed that as well,” Serpell said.
"We’d expect him back, probably missing around about two to three games.
"Unfortunately for Dion, his return to play is close to our Dreamtime game with a five-day turnaround, we'll probably want to be pretty conservative around that time, so we'll give more time frame specifics as we get closer."
Sam Banks: Collarbone, 4 weeks
"We know with Banksy undergoing surgery for that broken collarbone, he's progressing quite well," Serpell said.
"He'll see the surgeon this week for an update, but we're still not expecting him to return to play until around the Sydney game."
Shane Dunne on Talking Tigers
Richmond CEO Shane Dunne joins Talking Tigers to unpack the weekend win, provide an update on the Club’s injury list, and discuss the Punt Road Oval redevelopment.
Tom Sims: Foot, 3-4 weeks
“Tom Sims has been integrating into training over the last couple of weeks,” Serpell said.
“He's back at full training this week, and we want to see three weeks of full training into him before he returns to play, so expect him to be out playing before the bye.”
Taj Hotton: Hip, 6-8 weeks
“We're seeing Taj do more and more these days," Serpell said.
"We can confidently say that he'll be back in around about six to eight weeks...soon after the bye we'll expect to see him playing.”

Judson Clarke: ACL, 7-10 weeks
“He's come back from Oregon with a few little tricks up his sleeve, which he learnt over that period of time, so we're expecting him to return to play now in around seven to 10 weeks,” Serpell said.
Sam Lalor: Achilles, TBC
"It was an unfortunate incident for Sam Lalor last week, coming off the track with a little tear to his Achilles," Serpell said.
"Thankfully, he avoided surgery with the injury. It was only quite minor. We'll be governed by his symptoms over the next little while.
"He should be out of a boot in the next day or two, and then we'll progress towards running.
"At this stage, we're thinking around about eight to 12 weeks, but we'll give you more accurate time frames when he returns to run."
