Richmond midfielder Sam Cumming has been charged by the MRO following an incident during Sunday's game against North Melbourne.

Cumming was charged with careless contact with an umpire (first offence) in the fourth quarter of the match at the MCG.

It has resulted in a $1,500 fine, which can be reduced to $1,000 with an early plea.

Richmond takes on Collingwood this Saturday at the MCG from 4.15pm (AEST).
