Dear Members and Supporters,

Our community is confronting an unprecedented public health crisis that is changing the way we live our lives. As of yesterday, that extends to AFL football, with the season suspended until at least the end of May 2020.

To all of us at the Richmond Football Club, the most important thing is your health and wellbeing – and that of your family and friends. Please take all precautions necessary to protect yourself, and in so doing, the broader public. This situation requires a united community approach and we know Richmond fans will look after each other and play their part.

From a football perspective, clubs, and indeed the AFL itself, is confronting a challenge unlike anything seen in the history of the game. The implications of this shut down on our industry are enormous. Our Club – despite its strength - is not immune and some difficult decisions will need to be made in the weeks and months ahead.

The strength and support of the Tiger Army gives us hope and confidence we will find a way through. Your passion has sustained this Club during the tough times and enabled us to thrive during the good times. It gives us certainty in a time of great uncertainty. Collectively, we will survive this incredibly difficult period.

Connection has been at the heart of making us a great Club on and off the field. In the face of this current challenge that will not change, and in fact, connection is more important than ever.

Despite the gravity of the current situation, it is the future of the Club that connects us now. We can’t wait for the day we again walk to the MCG alongside the mighty Tiger Army to watch the yellow and black do battle. That is the future we will fight for as one.

Stay safe Go Tigers
