Defender-turned-forward, Luke McGuane, is providing valuable assistance in the Richmond side for star spearhead Jack Riewoldt.

McGuane has kicked 11 goals in six games since reclaiming his place in the Tigers’ line-up this season.

He’s scored multiple goals on three occasions, with an equal-career high haul of three in Richmond’s 70-point win against the Western Bulldogs at the MCG on Sunday.

Apart from kicking goals, McGuane has added a timely injection of vigour and defensive pressure to the Tiger forward line.

Riewoldt has been extremely impressed with McGuane’s efforts in attack . . .

“I can’t give enough credit to him and his role he’s come and played in,” Riewoldt said.

“Playing as an undersized ruck, and as a back that’s gone forward, he’s really put his hand up for this year and going forward.

“He’s been really good.”
