In the build-up to Saturday night’s special Dreamtime in Darwin clash between Richmond and Essendon, Tiger stars Jack Riewoldt and Kane Lambert have expressed plenty of excitement about the big occasion. Here’s what each of them had to say about Dreamtime in Darwin.

Daniel Rioli

"I've been part of it for four or five years now. I feel like it's a special occasion, not only for me but the other Indigenous boys and Indigenous players from other clubs as well. I get to go back home to Darwin and play that game in front of friends and family which will be nice."

Jack Riewoldt

“It’s bloody exciting. I debuted many moons ago in ‘Dreamtime at the G’ and have been involved in every game bar last year with an injury. But I think this is the one I’m most excited for. To go up to Darwin, into the NT, and play in Indigenous Round and play Dreamtime up there, it’s going to be something very special. I know our young Indigenous boys and all the Indigenous people that work at the Club are really excited about that. So, I’m looking forward to getting up there and experiencing what could be one of the greatest cultural experiences of my life.”

"It's great also because I designed the jumper and especially in Darwin, there's a lot of Indigenous people there. It will be great to go there and perform and hopefully we get the win."

Kane Lambert

“I think it’s going to be a magical weekend. It’s going to be super-special for the Northern Territory and Darwin and obviously both clubs as well. Really excited to wear Shai Bolton’s jumper that he’s designed. And we have a great amount of Indigenous culture around our footy club past and present. So, it’s going to be so good to be able to celebrate than and, hopefully, put on a good show.”
