Richmond will have another midfield star represented in the upcoming Australia v Ireland Representative match, with co-captain Ellie McKenzie added to the Australian team.

McKenzie has been selected to represent Australia in the match, set to be held on Saturday 1 August at North Sydney Oval. She joins Tiger teammate Monique Conti, who was selected for Australia last week.

Earlier this month, McKenzie was announced as Richmond co-captain for the upcoming season, alongside Gabby Seymour. McKenzie was elevated to the Richmond leadership group in 2025.

She has played 49 games since her debut season in 2021 and has kicked 20 goals.

In 2025, the two-time All-Australian squad member averaged 22.4 disposals, collecting a career-high 27 touches against Geelong in Round 5.

Her resume is extensive, awarded the AFLW Best First Year Player (2021), coming second in Richmond's AFLW Best and Fairest (2021, 2025), third in the Best and Fairest (2024) and receiving an AFLW Rising Star Nominee (2021).

The historic clash will bring together some of the competition’s biggest stars and emerging talent to celebrate the continued growth of women’s football and the strong connection between AFLW and Ireland.

The match will use a Sherrin football and be played under Australian Football rules.

Australia v Ireland is set to kick off at 4.15pm (AEST) on Saturday 1 August, at North Sydney Oval. The match will be broadcast live on Fox Footy and Kayo Sports.
