John was appointed to the board in November 2015.

John is the co-Founder and a non-executive director of Plenary, an independent, long-term investor, developer, and manager of public infrastructure, specialising in public-private partnerships, property development, and asset management.

He served as Plenary’s inaugural Chair from its founding in 2004 through to 2024, overseeing its growth into a global portfolio of infrastructure assets spanning Australia, North America, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East.

Prior to establishing Plenary, John led the Melbourne-based Infrastructure Capital business of ABN AMRO (formerly BZW) for 10 years, establishing himself as a key figure in infrastructure investment and development.

John was also a board director of the Victoria Racing Club from 2011 through to 2020, during which time he held the roles of Honorary Treasurer and Vice Chairman.

In September 2022, the board confirmed John will become the next president of the Richmond Football Club and was instated at the completion of the Annual General Meeting on December 19, 2022.
